PolyBrite
International Named Official Sponsor of the Reach the Beach Relay
Naperville, IL, August 28, 2001- PolyBrite International, a manufacturer of
illuminated safetywear, today proudly announced their official sponsorship of
the Reach the Beach Relay. The
Reach The Beach (RTB) Relay takes place across the State of New Hampshire and
benefits the New Hampshire State Parks as well as many of the community
organizations along the route. It
is also the longest relay race in the United States.
All participants are required to wear an illuminated vest of some sort.
PolyBrite International’s illuminated and reflective safetywear is
perfect for this event. The entire
PolyBrite ™ line of safety products contains a combination of PolyBrite
International’s patented polymer/LED technology and high quality
retro-reflective sheeting. This
arrangement improves safety by providing users with the best of both
worlds—illumination and reflectivity.
The retro-reflective properties in PolyBrite International’s products
allow the user to be seen in bright light situations, while PolyBrite™
technology provides up to one-mile visibility in low light and no light
situations. Running on standard
batteries, PolyBrite™ technology has the ability to provide safety
illumination for hundreds of hours.
PolyBrite International, in conjunction with their distributor Priority 1 LSS
in Connecticut, has outfitted the entire volunteer staff at the relay with its
illuminated safety vests and is also offering its illuminated safety vests and
armbands for sale to all RTB Relay participants.
“We were so
impressed by the visibility of PolyBrite's products that we've partnered with
them to outfit all of our night time volunteers,” said Rich Mazzola, RTB Relay
Co-Director. “This is our
recommendation for your team's safety.”
A portion of the proceeds earned from PolyBrite product sales will
benefit New Hampshire’s state parks and various community organizations.

Saturday, September 28 - 29, 2001. The relay will consist of (a maximum of) 12
person teams that will rotate through 36 transition areas as they cover the
approximate 200-mile distance of the race. This means that each relay team
member will run 3 legs of varying lengths and difficulty, covering an average
total distance of 16.6 miles. There will also be an Ultra Distance division
that will have a team limit of 6 members. In this case, the average distance
covered per Ultra Distance Team runner would be 33 miles. You can learn more
